Ajit Huilgol

I am a kidney transplant surgeon with over 2500 kidney transplants to my name - all in the private sector - starting from May, 1983. I was also a cricket commentator on All India Radio from 1972 to 2005. I did a few stints as commentator on TV as well. Since 2007 I have become a keen wildlife photographer, and have travelled fairly widely in India and some places abroad. My images have been published in national and international magazines and books, and have won many awards in photo competitions, including a Runner Up Award in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 2009.
