The Indian cormorant or the Indian shag (Phalocrocorax fuscicollis) photographed from Kole wetlands in Trichur, Kerala in India. Easily distinguished from a similar species the Little cormorant by its blue eye. The long narrow bill ends in a hooked tip. Kole wetlands are spread over Trichur and Malappuram districts in Kerala and are home to many bird species.
