The common kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) also known as the Eurasian kestrel is a small falcon which has distinctive male plumage. It inhabits open farmlands and grasslands. It is typically seen hovering looking for prey. Incidentally, it was seen perched close to an invasive plant species commonly known as famine weed or Santa Maria feverfew (Parthenium hysterophorus).
