In November 2022 I was at Chinnar WLS looking out for a spot-bellied eagle owl. Though it was not sighted I was lucky to spot another owl holding on to an unusual kill.
Brown fish owl spotted from Chinnar in Kerala, India. They usually feed on fish but devour snakes, lizards, small mammals and occasionally water birds. Here it was found holding most probably a pond heron kill.
