I could hear it, then I could see this Red Shouldered Hawk circling over head. So I went down low ( just to be less visible) and cased out where it just might dive for a meal it had been eyeing as it circled. I then spotted a tree nearby where it could possibly land on with its catch. I positioned myself to hopefully get the action. Then it made the dive but disappeared in the high vegetation.
Sadly it came up empty, but as was my guess it landed exactly where I hoped it would. After some getting over its failed attempt, it gave me this amazing pose and rested a while. Photography is a guessing game at times, but a little and quick planning can often be results that are worth it.
