This Titmouse got lucky. I put out some peanuts this morning, and Mr. Blue Jay flew in very quickly and grabbed a peanut right in front of a squirrel sitting and nibbling on some seeds. The Blue Jay actually scared the squirrel with his loud mouth. Mr. Blue Jay thought he was so clever, so cool, so quick from his wings. He could not wait to carry this yummy peanut off somewhere high in a tree.
He knew if he flew up high in a tree a bird or any animals will not even know he is eating such a yummy nut. While all this was happening a Titmouse was perched on a tree branch watching him and the squirrel. I think the Titmouse was hoping, as usual, one of them would drop a peanut just for him to have.
The next thing I saw was Mr. Blue Jay dropping the peanut and the Titmouse scooped up to catch the falling peanut. He was a fast little bird and now he is perched way up high in a tree enjoying the yummy peanut. No.. he did not share the peanut, and enjoyed every bite.
