The Chestnut Headed Bee Eater comes to Khisma forest in West Bengal in summer between Mid march to early June. The place is mainly known as migration and breeding ground for thousands of Blue Tailed bee eater and along with them a very few number of chest nut headed also comes. I am a frequent visitor to this place for quite a number of years but was unable to get a decent portrait shot of the chestnut headed. The reason being their numbers are very low and due to which tracking them happens to be an issue and they generally avoid human presence in and around their brooding spot. After failing for 6 times this year, on the 7th time i finally got this shot of the bee eater coming and sitting in the perch where exactly i was wanting. I waited there in 40 degree temperature from 7'0 clock in the morning to 11'o clock in the late morning. Finally patience and hard work paid off and i got the shot.
