La vie a un rythme, est en mouvement constant. Le mot pour le rythme (des tribus malinké) est Foli or in other words rhythm, and I would also add the balance, are to be found in many aspects of life, whether we are talking about people, birds, or animals.
I think it's been a few years since this phrase was in my mind, failing to associate it satisfactorily with one of my photos. That was until after a day trip to the Black Sea, when, immediately after sunset I managed to photograph these cormorants retreating to the night grounds. Apart from the fact that there are two groups and the number of birds is unequally divided, there is still a balance between the two groups. In addition, if you have the curiosity to count, there are 13 birds, both a prime and an odd number.
As a side note, the cormorants are seen by the fishermen as one of the main causes for the diminished quantity of fish available in Romania, and, instead of finding ways of both protecting these birds and the fish, the simplest solution always comes first on the agenda, which is reducing the cormorants' numbers.
