Early one crisp spring Alaskan morning, before sunrise, I set out to find birds to photograph in an overgrown lot. The day looked promising and the first bird I heard was a nearby Fox Sparrow who was quite active, singing his heart out as if welcoming the rising sun. I positioned myself for some backlit photos to make the use of the golden light from the morning light and ended up photographing not only the bird, but his beautiful song as well.
